Lin Yichong Meets President Museveni of Uganda

On June 25, Lin Yichong, Chairman of CHEC, met President Museveni of Uganda in Beijing, who came to attend the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in China. Wu Di – Vice President of CHEC, and Li Jingjun - General Manager of East Africa Regional Center were also present at the occasion.
Lin Yichong welcomed President Museveni for his visit and thanked him for his concern and support for the Eastern Standard Gauge Railway project in Uganda constructed by CHEC. Afterwards he then disclosed the progress of the Kampala New City Project to the President.
President Museveni recognized CHEC's efforts in promoting the project. He said the Ugandan government would unswervingly support the Standard Gauge Railway project and the New City project and appoint the Ugandan government coordinator for the New City project.
In addition, both parties had in-depth discussions on plans for connectivity with countries in East Africa and the financing work of the Standard Gauge Railway project.
Relevant personnel of the Marketing Department and East Africa Regional Management Center of CHEC were also present at the occasion.
