On June 18, the graduation ceremony of CHEC international students was held in Room 102 of Wentian Hall, Hohai University. Angelo Diur Kassul – the owner’s representative and Deputy Director of Lobito Port Authority under the Ministry of Transport of Angola, Guo Jichao - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hohai University, Liu Baohe – Vice President of CHEC and representatives of many universities and enterprises attended the ceremony. Fourteen graduates from countries including Angola, Papua New Guinea and Jamaica were also present at the occasion.
At the event, Mr. Liu Baohe warmly congratulated the international students on the successful completion of their studies and the upcoming new chapter in their lives. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the teachers and administrators for their modest work and selfless contributions. Besides, he presented the history, development strategy and flagship projects of the company to the university. Afterwards, through a publicity video, he stated that under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" Initiative and adhering to the core value of "realizing the responsibilities, returning to the society with a high quality and establishing win-win cooperation”, CHEC fulfilled its corporate social responsibilities and made positive contributions to the economic and social development of host countries and regions to achieve common development. Finally, on behalf of CHEC, he expressed three hopes for the international students who will soon leave the school and join the society: first, he hoped that they would never forget their original objective, keep the school motto in mind, maintain a positive learning attitude, and elevate their professional standards and business abilities; second, he hoped that they would keep in mind CHEC’s spirit of "inclusiveness, integrity, innovation and dedication", actively participate in the infrastructure development of various countries and become advocates of their economic and social development; third, he hoped that they would tell their families and friends about China's rapid development in recent years and what they have seen and heard in China, so that the world could better understand China and CHEC, and become friendly messengers to spread Chinese culture.
CHEC established the “CHEC International Educational Exchange Fund" in 2008. So far, CHEC has sponsored more than 40 students from Sudan, Angola, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Papua New Guinea, Namibia and other countries to study in China. CHEC's activities were praised by the governments of relevant countries, projected a good corporate image and achieved social benefits.
