On December 5, the contract signing ceremony for Jamaica Constant Spring Road was held at Prime Minister's Office of Jamaica. Andrew Holness - Prime Minister of Jamaica, his Excellency Niu Qingbao - the Chinese ambassador to Jamaica, Fan Jianghong - the commercial counselor, Everald Warmington - Minister of Economy and Employment of Jamaica, and Xiong Shengquan - Chief Accountant of CHEC attended the ceremony.
Mr. Xiong Shengquan briefly stated the overview and significance of Constant Spring Road Project, stressed that CHEC would build a high-quality road for sure. He said CHEC would try its best to employ as many local employees as possible, actively provide technical training and share the successful engineering experience.
His Excellency Niu Qingbao said the signing of this project proved the good partnership between China and Jamaica again, and further revealed that Jamaica was the country getting the most benefit from China's support for the Caribbean nations. He hoped that CHEC could complete the project construction efficiently with high quality.
Mr. Andrew Holness said the construction of this project would greatly relieve the regional traffic jam, and that Kingston would become more and more intelligent and smoother and smoother. At the same time, he expected this project could be constructed energetically and bring convenience to the transportation of Kingston as soon as possible.
