At 6 a.m. on the early morning of October 31st, the first stage of Light Rail Transit Ampang Line Stretcher in Malaysia undertaken by CHEC was officially announced open to traffic. This section will be open to the public with no charge for one month.
The Light Rail Transit Ampang Line Stretcher is located in the southwestern part of the downtown of Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia. This project covers about 18km-long dual-track main line rail, about 7km-long vehicle depot, and about 44.9km-long conductor rail. At the first stage, the line is 7.4km long, covering four new stations, including Awan Besar Station, Muhibbah Station, Alam Sutera Station and BK5 Station, accounting for 29% of the total length of the project.
It is learned that the Light Rail Transit Ampang Line Stretcher is expected to be wholly opened to traffic in the first half of next year.
