Ismail, President of Djibouti, Participated in the Commencement Ceremony of Salt Terminal Project

On April 4, the commencement ceremony of Djibouti Salt Terminal Project was held in GHOUBET, Djibouti. Distinguished guests including Ismail Omar Guelleh –President of Djibouti, Sade – director of Port of Djibouti, Shao Wei – Charge d'Affaires of China's embassy in Djibouti, Ye Jijiang – commercial counselor and Shi Yingtao – vice president of the Company attended the ceremony.

At 8: 30am, the ceremony kicked off by a dance accompanied by drum music full of national features of Djibouti. Ismail Omar Guelleh delivered a speech first. He extended his congratulations to the successful commencement of the project and thanks to the Company’s contribution to Djibouti’s traffic system construction and economic development and hoped that this project could develop on time with the quality satisfying the standard and promote the long-term development of friendship between people of the two countries. Afterwards, Shi Yingtao – deputy general manager of the Company, on behalf of CHEC, extended his thanks to President Guelleh’s trust and promised that CHEC would allocate resources and try its best to provide satisfying service for the client with first-class technology, quality and reputation, to complete the engineering construction effectively in high quality and make contributions to deepening the cooperation in economic field between China and Djibouti. The whole ceremony was solemn and held in a harmonious and happy atmosphere, showed the image of the Company as an international first-class contractor.

The EPC contract of the project was signed on February 29, 2012, with the client as PORT OF DJIBOUTI, a contract amount of over USD 60 million and a total construction time of 24 months.
